En su forma m\u00e1s simple, el formaldeh\u00eddo es un gas. Es irritante para la piel y tiene un olor acre, incluso en concentraciones inferiores a 1 ppm. El umbral de olor est\u00e1 entre 0,5-1,0 ppm. Los vapores de formaldeh\u00eddo tambi\u00e9n son inflamables y explosivos.<\/p><p>El formaldeh\u00eddo natural se encuentra en los alimentos (especialmente en la fruta) en niveles muy bajos, tambi\u00e9n se crea por la combusti\u00f3n del tabaco (al fumar) y se produce en el metabolismo humano, donde se descompone por medio de la cat\u00e1lisis enzim\u00e1tica en di\u00f3xido de carbono y formiato, y se elimina por exhalaci\u00f3n y micci\u00f3n respectivamente.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-477c9be1 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"477c9be1\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2c9f7c2a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2c9f7c2a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>El uso industrial del formaldehido<\/h3><p>El formaldeh\u00eddo tiene muchos usos industriales, a saber, en la s\u00edntesis de tintas, como aglutinante de resinas en la fabricaci\u00f3n de muebles (madera contrachapada, paneles compuestos) y mobiliario (alfombras), y como conservante en la s\u00edntesis qu\u00edmica dentro de la producci\u00f3n farmac\u00e9utica (vacunas) y las industrias qu\u00edmicas (cosm\u00e9ticos, champ\u00fas, desodorantes y jabones).<\/p><p>El uso m\u00e1s reconocido del formaldeh\u00eddo es en la preservaci\u00f3n de espec\u00edmenes de laboratorio y en el embalsamamiento en morgues.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-66fa317 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"66fa317\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7f997e3e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7f997e3e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>El formaldeh\u00eddo en el medio ambiente y sus efectos en la salud humana<\/h3><p>Las preocupaciones ambientales son limitadas, ya que el formaldeh\u00eddo se degrada r\u00e1pidamente en la atm\u00f3sfera por las reacciones con otras sustancias o en el suelo por las bacterias. Los riesgos para los seres humanos son mucho mayores porque el formaldeh\u00eddo se absorbe f\u00e1cilmente a trav\u00e9s de la piel y las v\u00edas respiratorias.
