Il a une odeur \u00e2cre, souvent associ\u00e9e \u00e0 des nettoyants m\u00e9nagers puissants. L\u2019ammoniac (NH\u2083) est plus l\u00e9ger que l\u2019air mais peut \u00eatre facilement condens\u00e9 en un liquide en raison de la forte liaison hydrog\u00e8ne entre les mol\u00e9cules d\u2019ammoniac (la liaison hydrog\u00e8ne est ce qui donne \u00e0 l\u2019eau ses propri\u00e9t\u00e9s uniques). Les charbons actifs impr\u00e9gn\u00e9s neutralisent la nature basique de l\u2019ammoniac (NH\u2083), en utilisant une chimie acide \/ base simple et stockent le produit de r\u00e9action final dans la structure des pores du charbon actif.<\/p><p>Les charbons activ\u00e9s impr\u00e9gn\u00e9s sont plus efficaces pour \u00e9liminer l\u2019ammoniac (NH\u2083) que les charbons activ\u00e9s standard, car l\u2019\u00e9nergie cin\u00e9tique \u00e9lev\u00e9e des mol\u00e9cules d\u2019ammoniac se traduit par un manque d\u2019attraction pour les sites d\u2019adsorption.
